Herman Ludvig Klemesrud was born August 14, 1914 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Herman Knudsen Klemesrud and Lise Maria Dynna, the youngest of their ten children.

Herman was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa on September 27, 1914. His baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs S. K. Klemesrud; Andrea Wamstad and Herbert Klemesrud. He was confirmed also at RCLC.

1915: Herman Klemesrud 5 months.

1920: Herman K Klemesrud 51, Lizzie M Klemesrud 47, Alice K Klemesrud 23, Helen L Klemesrud 20, Karlmar L Klemesrud18, Irene L Klemesrud 16, Knut A Klemesrud 14, Louise Klemesrud 9, Herman L Klemesrud 5.

1925: Herman K Klemesrud 56, Lizzie M Klemesrud 52, Kalmar H Klemesrud 23, Irene L Klemesrud 21, Knud A Klemesrud 19, Louise Klemesrud 14, Ludwig H Klemesrud 10.
1930: Herman K Kleesrud 62, Herman L Klemesrud 15, Donald C Christensen 23.

After high school graduation, he attended Iowa State University where he was a member of the Glee Club; fraternity and received an electrical engineering degree.

Found in the 1940 census at Des Moines, Polk, Iowa, renting a room, working as an electrical tester: Herman Klemesrud age 25.

Herman married Dorothy Victoria Hanson on November 22, 1941. (Dorothy born December 13, 1916 Arthur, Ida, Iowa, d February 22, 2010 Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana). The couple had 4 children.

Herman L. Klemesrud died December 19, 1988 at Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana and was buried at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Johnson, Indiana.
