Johan Oscar Johnsrud was born January 28, 1869 at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to John Olsen Johnsrud and Kari Olsdatter Lindelien, the fourth of their six children.

Johan was baptized on February 7, 1869 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Iowa and was confirmed there on June 8, 1884.

Johan never married, nor had children; he was a teacher.

1870: Jno Oleson 40, Carrie Oleson 35, Carrie Oleson 8, Olons Oleson 6, Ann Oleson 4, Jno Oleson 2.

1880: John Oleson 50, Carrie Oleson 51, Carrie Oleson 18, Anna Oleson 13, John Oleson 11, Ole Oleson 9, Peter Oleson 7.

Found in the 1900 census at Strand, Norman, Minnesota: John J Johnsrud 68, Kari Johnsrud 29, John J Johnsrud 31.

Found in the 1910 census at Granite, Granite, Montana: John Johnsrud age 41.

Found in the 1920 census at Whitefish, Flathead, Montana, Single: John J Johnsrud age 50.

Found in the 1930 census at Kalispell, Flathead, Montana: Johan J Johnsrud age 60.

Found in the 1940 census at Polson, Lake, Montana: Johan J Johnsrud age 71.

He died June 1, 1953 at Los Angeles, California and was buried at the Savannah Memorial Park Cemetery, Rosemead, Los Angeles, California.
