Johanna Grace (Marr) Fox, age 97, of Mesa, Arizona, and formerly of St. Ansgar, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Mesa, Arizona.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. There will be a time for lunch and fellowship following services on Saturday at the K.C. Hall in Osage.

Johanna Grace Fox was born December 4, 1916, in New Haven, Iowa, the daughter of Will and Anna (Cashman) Marr. She attended ten years at St. Mary’s Academy in New Haven and her last two years at Normal School, graduating from Osage High School in 1934. On February 16, 1935, she married Lloyd Fox at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. Grace was a wonderful farmer’s wife, mother, and community and church worker. She was a member and past president of Sacred Heart Ladies Guild and a former member of St. Ansgar Catholic Church. She served as president of St. Ansgar School Music Mothers and was a leader of St. Ansgar Peppy Pals 4-H Club. Grace enjoyed decorating the home, entering baking contests, flower arranging, playing bridge and visiting family and friends.

Grace is survived by her children, Bill Fox of St. Ansgar and Janice Valder Offerman (Barney Offerman) of Charlotte, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Stephen Valder (Odette), Brenda Clifton and Netha Kreamer (Kevin); eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Catherine Marr of Saginaw, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd A. Fox in 1979; grandson, Patrick Lloyd Valder; son-in-law, Robert Valder; six brothers and sisters, Urban Marr (Dorothy), Vincent Marr (Peggy), Gertrude Meirick (Paul), Mary Miller (Vincent), Francis Marr, and Luella Dunlay (James).

Mom, we are glad you are free of pain and are happily with your many precious angels.
