Rasmus Gerhard Jonasen was born abt 1834 at Norway. He emigrated to the United States and lived in Iowa.

Rasmus married Brita (Betsey) Eriksen at probably Mitchell, Iowa but do not know the date or if they had children.

Rasmus G Jonasen died on June 3, 1867 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa at the age of 33 years.

According to records from the St Ansgar First Lutheran Church entitled "Early Burials at Rock Creek Lutheran", Rasmus is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery. Have not located a gravestone for him. It would probably be in the northeastern corner which is the oldest part of the cemetery. Find A Grave Memorial# 125578636

His wife, Brita Eriksen (born 1841 Norway, d February 6, 1876 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) married a 2nd time after Rasmus' death to Lars Helgesen Johnson on May 26, 1868. Brita is also buried at RCLC; her Find A Grave Memorial #60045417.
