ILLNESS FATAL TO SISTER ISIDORE
Services for Sister Mary Isidore Byrnes, 96, were held Tuesday, January 20, 1981, at the Sacred Heart Convent Chapel in Cedar Rapids. She died on Sunday at the Queen of Angels Infirmary, Sacred Heart Convernt, Cedar Rapids.
Sister Isidore was born on September 20, 1884, at New Haven, Mitchell county, Iowa. She entered the congregation of the Cedar Rapids Sisters of Mercy on June 18, 1905. She waa a primary teacher for 58 years in the schools of the Community at Immaculate Conception, Cedar Rapids; St. John's Waterloo; Sacred Heart, Oelwein; and St. Xavier's Manchester. She retired to Sacred Heart Convent in 1963.
Surviving is one sister, Cecelia Byrnes of Glendale, Calif., and nieces and nephews in this area.
Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Relatives from this area who attended th efuneral included: Mr. and Mrs. Dean Byrnes of Riceville, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Byrnes, Mr. and Mrs. L. Weinberger of Osage, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Meirick of Orchard.
