Mathew Meech – February 14, 1853 – May 5, 1935

MEECH, AGED FARMER NEAR RICEVILLE, DIES

Riceville, May 9 – M. Meech, aged farmer, long a resident of Jamestown township, died at his home nine miles northeast of Riceville Sunday night.

Mathew Meech was born February 14, 1853 in Dorset, England the son of Robert Meech and Louisa (Hackwell) Meech.

He married Flora Landfare , the daughter of Willard Landfare and Phoebe (Alexander) Landfare.

He died May 5, 1935 near Riceville, Iowa.

Surviving him besides his wife, were his sons Frank, Jesse, and Clark Meech and a daughter Matilda (Frank) Birkolz.
