RITES HELD FOR
PAUL FAAS, 69Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, November 13, 1971, for Paul G. Fass, of Stacyville, who died on November 11, following a two-year illness with cancer.
Rev. Wayne Gjerde of Osage conducted services at the Hatten Funeral Home, and officiated at burial in the Stacyville cemetery.
Paul Penney Faas was born on July 17, 1902, near Stacyville, the son of Georgie and Ermina Penney Faas. He moved to Stacyville with his parents as a small boy, and spent his entire life there. He was employed on the Illinois Central Railroad for more than forty years, retiring in 1967. He served several terms as a member of the Stacyville Town Council and many years as secretary of the school board. He was also Scout Master, for several years.
His death came on November 11, 1971, at the age of 69, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, where he had been a patient for several weeks.
He is survived by two sisters, Ida of Stacyville, and Mrs. (Fannie) Alton Kittleson of St. Ansgar, and a brother, George Delos Faas of Austin; three nieces, five nephews, four grand-nephews and four grand-nieces.
His parents preceded him in death.

STACYVILLE, IOWA - Paul P. Faas, 69, died Thursday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hatten and Son Funeral Home in Stacyville. Burial will be in the Stacyville Cemetery.
Survivors are two sisters, Ida Faas, of Stacyville and Mrs. Fannie Kittleson, of St. Ansgar; and a brother George, of Austin, Minnesota.
