FUNERAL HELD FOR
CLARENCE W. KUHN

Funeral services were held Wednesday for a former Osage area resident, Clarence W. Kuhn, 79, of Cresco, Iowa, who died Sunday as the result of a stroke. He had been ill for only four days.

Rites were held at St. Joseph Catholic church in Cresco, and burial was in the Sacred Heart cemetery, Osage. C.R. Champion and Sons made the local arrangements.

Clarence William Kuhn was born near Wesley, Iowa, on April 22, 1892, the son of William and Julia Dwyer Kuhn. He came to Osage with his family in 1901 and was graduated from high school here in 1912. He attended Highland Park College in Des Moines.

Amelia Meirick and Clarence Kuhn were married on November 24, 1921. They established their home on a farm near Elma, in Mitchell county, and later farmed near Decorah until retiring to Cresco in 1960.

He was a lifelong member of the Catholic church, and was also active in the K.C. in Cresco.

Surviving are his wife, Amelia; four daughters, Mrs. Don Goings (Mary Ann) of Evansdale, Mrs. Linn Hites (Helen) of Tuyallup [SIC], Wash., Mrs. Don Allen (Delores) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Ron Eckerman (Carol) of Evansdale; two sons, William Kuhn of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joseph Kuhn of Lawton, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; one brother, Sylvester L. Kuhn of Osage; and one sister, Miss Elizabeth Kuhn of Osage.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Mark V. and Dr. Leo Kuhn.
