CARPENTER DIED

Word has reached Carpenter of the death of Clarence Hayman, who was born in Carpenter in 1882. As a youth he went to Kansas City where he learned the restaurant business, opening his first in 1911 and later established his own chain of 13 restaurants under the "Forum" name. He was still chairman of the board at the time of his death. Burial was in Kansas City.
