JOSEPH NOVAK, 60,
OF KASSON, MINNESOTA

Funeral services will be held on Thursday for a former Mitchell county resident, Joseph Novak, 60, who died of Gunshot wounds at his home near Kasson, Minnesota, last Thursday or Friday. No gun was found at the scene of the crime, and foul play is being investigated by the Minnesota State Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Howard lewis and Stanley Novak of Osage; Louis Novak of Grafton, and Ben Novak of Castle Rock, Colorado. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery at Mitchell.

FUNERAL HELD FOR
JOSEPH NOVAK, 60,

Funeral services were held on Thursday for a former Mitchell county resident, Joseph Novak, 60, who died February 11 or 12, 1971, at his farm home near Kasson, Minnesota, as the result of foul play. Services were held at a Kasson funeral home, and burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell.

Joseph Leon Novak was born on October 13, 1910, at Oxford, Iowa, Johnson county, Iowa, the son of Joseph Edward and Frances Barta Novak. In 1914 he, with his parents, moved to Burr Oak township, Mitchell county, Iowa. Later they moved to a farm near Mitchell. He attended school there, graduating from Osage high school in 1928.

He was married to Eloise Smith of Kasson, and they made their home on a farm near there. They were later divorced, and he continued living at his farm home until his death.

Surviving are his brothers, Stanley of Osage, Louis of Grafton and Ben of Castle Rock, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Howard Lewis of Osage.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
