Osage, Iowa — Ernest W. Fehling, 72, who died Friday at 11:30 a.m. was buried Sunday afternoon. The funeral was held in Osage Lutheran Church, with Rev. T. P. Solem in charge. Burial was in the local cemetery.
Mr. Fehling was born July 17, 1858, in Farrington, Wisconsin, and when a young man came to Mitchell County. On November 27, 1882, he was married to Miss Emma Rosel. Five years ago they came to Osage to make their home with their daughter. Mrs. Elna Stickney.
When a boy he was baptized in the Lutheran church and after moving to this county became a community member of North Rock Creek Lutheran Church, near Grafton.
Last spring Mr. Fehling's health began to fall and Thursday night he suffered a stroke which ended his life Friday forenoon.
Surviving are three daughters and a son, Mrs. Stickney, Osage; Mrs. A. R. Stokes, Mitchell; Mrs. A. W. Miller. St. Ansgar, and Arnold Fehllng, Parsons. Kan.; 11 grandchildren; a brother, W. R. Fehllng, Arcadia, Cal.; three alsters: Mrs. Amelia Rlckford, Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Ed Bucholz. Fargo, N. D., and Mrs. Markell, of Idaho.
