Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 7, 1987 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, for Mrs. Bernard (Olive) Hemann, 84, of Stacyville. She died on Friday, July 3, 1987, at the Stacyville Nursing Home.

A concelebrated Mass was held with her three sons, Father Melvin, Father John W., and Father Everett as principal celebrants assisted by Father C. Manternach. Burial was in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.

Olive was born on December 19, 1903 at Stacyville to Nicholas and Rose (Brumm) Halbach. She attended Visitation School, Stacyville.

On October 26, 1927, she married Bernard J. Hemann at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville. The couple lived on the Hemann Century Farm until retiring to Stacyville in 1962.

Mrs. Hemann was a seamstress in her home for 20 years. She had been a resident of the nursing home for 11 months.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard of Stacyville; three daughters: Mrs. Clemens (Kathleen) Full and Sister Camilla, both of Dubuque, and Mrs. Helmut (Lucille) Mueller of Palatine, Illinois; five sons: Father Melvin of Preston, Minnesota, James of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Father John W. of Cedar Rapids, Matt of Stacyville, and Father Everett of Dubuque; three sisters: Mrs. Paul (Irene) Kinney of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Bertilla Mullenbach of Rochester, Minnesota, and Mrs. Margaret Stolzenberg of Stacyville; three brothers: Ralph and Fred Halbach, both of Stacyville, and Al of Osage; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
