Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, 1987, at the McIntire Methodist church, for Martha Harshbarger, 88, of Riceville. She died Tuesday, May 5, 1987, at the Riceville nursing home.

She was born January 14, 1899 to Michael and Emma (Cessford) Siple in Tipton. She taught school for 13 years.

On December 24, 1930, she married Alden Harshbarger in Cresco, and they farmed near Riceville for several years.

Mrs. Harshbarger was a member of the McIntire Methodist Ladies Circle and a member of the Eastern Star for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden, on September 23, 1984; three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include one brother, Everett Siple of Rochester, Minnesota.
