Obituary:

Paula J. Smith age 79, passed away on Tuesday October 8, 2013 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 14, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with Rev. Steve Garner officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday October 13th at 4 to 7 P.M. at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville with a 5:00 P.M. rosary and a scripture service at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church.

Paula Jeanette was born on June 21, 1934, to George and Opal (Smith) Schupfer at Dunlap, Iowa. She attended local schools and after graduation she attended stewardess flight training. She was united in marriage to Earl Smith on November 26, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mallard, Iowa. Paula was a homemaker to Earl and her six children and worked with her husband farming.

Survivors include her husband Earl of Riceville, Iowa sons: Kenneth and his wife Theresa of Riceville, Iowa, Dennis and his wife Deb of Payton, Iowa, Jim of Austin, Texas, Daughters: Vickie and her husband Lyle Penning of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Janet and her husband Trent Linkenmeyer of Riceville, Iowa and Sharon and her husband Kerry Mosher of St. Louis, Missouri. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation:
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville with a Rosary at 5:00 pm and a Parish Scripture Service at 6:30 pm, and at the church for an hour prior to services.

Service:
10:30 am on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville.

Cemetery:
Calvary Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa.
