Ingwal (Ingval, Ingvald) Stanley Horgen​ was born June 26, 1895 near Orchard, West Lin​coln, Mitchell, Iowa to ​Gulbrand Halvorsen Hor​gen and Ingeborg Peter​sdatter, the sixth of their ten children. He was baptized on July 28, 1895 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Nils Anderson and Mr and Mrs Ole Hetland.

Found in the 1900 census living at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa: Gilbert Horgan 41, Isabel Horgan 40, Henry Horgan 18, Melvin Horgan 13, Edwin Horgan 10, Cora Horgan 7, Ingvall Horgan 4, Gilmer Horgan 2, Ottelei Horgan 1.

Found in the 1910 census at West Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa: Gilbert H Horgan 51, Isabelle P Horgan 50, Melvin B Horgan 23, Edwin R Horgan 20, Cora G Horgan 17[19], Ingwal S Horgan 4[14], Gillman E Horgan 12, Amanda C Horgan 11, Oscar Horgan, 7 Clarence A Horgan 5, Martha K Horgan 73. (same farm as in 1900)

1915: Ingwald Horgen age 19.

1920: Gilbert Horgen 60, Isabelle Horgen 60, Jugual Horgen 24, Gilman Horgen 21, Amanda Horgen 19, Oscar Horgen 18, Clarence Horgen 13, Martha Horgen 83.

Ingwal married Phyllis Walford before 1930. The couple had 2 children, Thomas and Suzanne.

1930: Ingwall S Hargen 33, Phyllis Hargen 27, Charles Hargen 3 mos. (He is the county superintendent)

1940: I S Horgen 43, Phyllis Horgen 38, Charles Horgen 10, Suzanne Horgen 3, Lena Warford 69 (mother in law). (He is park commissioner).

Ingwal married Margaret Cotten in June 1954 at Colonial Heights, Virginia.

News article from Progress-Index, Petersburg, Virginia June 1954 - "Mrs Magee and Mr Horgen Marry in Colonial Heights:

The marriage of Mrs Margeret Cotten Magee, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, daughter of Mrs Thomas Cotten of this city and the late Mr Cotten, to Ingwald Stanley Horgen, of Wausau, Wisconsin took place yesterday at 10 a.m. in Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Dr. Carl A Collins Jr, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, Appomattox, performed the double ring ceremony.
Miss Suzanne Horgen, daughter of the groom, was the bride's only attendant. Charles Horgen was his father's best man.

Mr and Mrs Horgen left for a short trip following the ceremony. They will make their home in Wausau, WI.

Ingwal Stanley Horgen died January 11, 1993 at Harrisonburg, Virginia and was buried at the Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia.
