Olea Helgesdatter Johnson was born September 16, 1841 at Lokka ved under Finsand, Adal, Norway to Helge Johnson Lokke Rodningsand and Gunhild Larsdatter Somdalen, the sixth of their seven children.

Olea was baptized on January 23, 1842 at Aadal, Buskerud, Norway. Birth/baptismal record found in the Norwegian Digital Archives on line for Viker in Adal, 1840-1861, page 5, entry #4. Parents living at Lokke; five sponsors listed, easy to decipher.

Olea emigrated July 1852 to Albany, Green, Wisconsin with her parents and siblings. She moved to Cedar, Mitchell County, Iowa early 1854.

Found in the 1856 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Halge Johnson 53, Ole Johnson 24, Lewis Johnson 22, John Johnson 19, Halga Johnson 17, Olea Johnson 15.

NOTES:

Olea may have died August 18, 1871 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, according to the Mitchell IAGenWeb site on a cemetery listing entitled "Early Rock Creek Burials" (See link below) -- recorded by the First Lutheran church at St. Ansgar, Iowa -- as follows:

Pige (Norwegian word for single female): Olea Johnson - age 31, died August 18, 1871, buried at RCLC Cemetery.

Apparently did not marry or have children.
