Pearl Brown-Robertson, daughter of James L. Brown and Josie Gates-Brown, was born at Rock Creek, Iowa, on November 12, 1879, and passed away at her home in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on January 4, 1943, after a brief illness.
In 1891 she moved with her parents to Osage, where she attended the Osage schools, until she was graduated. She was a member of the Osage Congregational church. In 1898 the family moved to a farm eight miles north of Osage, and on June20, 1900, she was married to William Allen Robertson, of near Mitchell. Two daughters were born to this union -- Esther Elizabeth, now Mrs. Willard Fulton of Raymond, Iowa, and Edna, Mrs. Oscar Saug of Marion.
The family lived on a farm near Mitchell until the fall of 1918, when they moved to St. Ansgar, living there since that time. The father passed away in April 1940, following an operation.
Mrs. Robertson leaves to mourn her passing, the two daughters and husbands; two grandchildren, Robert and Lola Marie Fulton of Raymond; one sister, Mrs. F. L. Spencer of Waterloo; two brothers Avery Brown of Boston, Mass., and Earl H. Brown of Chicago, and many other relatives and friends.
