Clarence Julius Haugen was born February 26, 1895 at Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Olaus Knudsen Haugen and Jane Lydia Maakestad, the second of their nine children.

Clarence was baptized on April 22, 1895. His baptismal sponsors were: Mr. and Mrs. Knud Haugen; Carl Haugen and Katherina Pedersen.

Found in the 1900 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Olavus Haugen 30, Lydia J. Haugen 32, Gertie C. Haugen 6, Clarence J. Haugen 5, Agnes O. Haugen 3, Olga L. Haugen 2, Helen Haugen 0/12, Olavus Thompson 24.

Clarence died in 1910 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa before the 1910 census was taken. He was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
