Lewis Haberkorn was born May 3, 1887 at Plymouth, Cerro Gordo, Iowa to Carl Haberkorn and Betty Louise Mueller. Have found his name as Lewis, Louis and Louie.

Found in the 1900, 1915 censuses at Cedar, Floyd, Iowa:
1900: Carl Haberkorn 59, Betty 46, Willie 19, Arthur 21, Jacob 16, Malinda 15, Louie 12, Henrietta 10, Samey 8, Ruth 5.
1915: Lewis Haberkorn age 27.

He enlisted in the Army in 1908.
Found in the 1910 census as a soldier at Ft. Riley, Kansas; Lewis Haberkorn age 22.

Lewis married Emma Helena Gunderson on June 5, 1928 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa; the couple had no children.

Found in the 1930 census living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Lewis Haberkorn 42, Emma H Haberkorn 43.

Lewis worked as a cabinet maker and later served as Deputy and then Sheriff of MItchell County, Iowa for a number of years. He loved horses.

Lewis died June 5, 1970 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa; buried at Osage City Cemetery.
