Memorial services were held on Friday, June 5, 1987, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage, for Mary Loney, 53, of Osage. She died on Thursday, June 4, 1987, at the Osage hospital, after a long illness. The Rev. J. Pittman of United Methodist Church, Osage, officiated. The body was donated to the University of Iowa.

She was born on December 13, 1933 in Osage, to Herb and Gertrude (Hogan) Gelner. She graduated from Osage High School in 1951. She was employed as a home health aide by Mitchell County.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lennie (Beth) Boggs of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kerry Loney of Waverly; one son, Dan of Osage; four grandchildren; her mother, Gertrude Gelner of Osage; and one sister, Beverly Penney of Little Cedar.
