Clifford Peder Goplerud was born August 28, 1891 at Mitchell County, Iowa to Harald Christoffersen Goplerud and Dina Pedersdatter Groth. He was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa on September 27, 1891. His baptismal sponsors were: Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Goplerud; John Goplerud and Johanna Groth.

Clifford married Ethel Cromer in 1917 in Iowa. The couple had four children:
Ann Goplerud Kennedy (1918 - 1999);
Dr. Elizabeth Jane Goplerud (1919 - 2013);
Harald F Goplerud (1920 - 2003) and
Dr. Clifford Peter Goplerud (1924 - 2007).

Clifford worked as a civil engineer and county official.

He died January 26, 1978 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
