Charles Edward “Chuck” ' Shotliff – July 13, 1941 – April 2, 2008

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Charles E. "Chuck" Shotliff will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Kent Otterman officiating. American Legion Post 91 will provide military honors.

Mr. Shotliff, 66, of Austin, died Wednesday (April 2, 2008) at the Good Samaritan Home in Albert Lea.

Charles Edward Shotliff was born July 13, 1941, in Stacyville, Iowa. He served in the Army from Feb. 18, 1964, to Feb. 11, 1966. On Oct. 4, 1964, he married Barbara Lerud in Austin. Mr. Shotliff was an independent truck driver. He enjoyed golf, pool and hunting.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dee Slinde of Minneapolis; and a brother, Clark of Canon City, Colo. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call an hour before the service at Worlein Funeral Home.

Charles Edward Shotliff was born July 13, 1941 in Stacyville, the son of Robert Burton Shotliff and Luella Cathleen (Meyer) Shotliff.

He married Barbara Ruth Lurud, the daughter of Herbert Lerud and Ruth (Berndt) Lerud.

They had one daughter DeeAnn Barbara Shotliff born May 15, 1960. She married Virgil Odean Slinde II.
