OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Amy Hill, 77, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Osage. Burial will be in Little Cedar Cemetery, Little Cedar. Friends may call at Champion Funeral Home, Osage.

She died of natural causes on Monday, June 29, 1987, at Mitchell County Hospital.

Survivors include three daughters: Sandra Balsley and Carol Shanahan, both of Osage, and Kay Hill of Cullowhee, North Carolina; two sons, Ronald of Orlando, Florida, and Keith of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Starr of La Habra, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stannard, in 1961; a son; two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Hill and her husband owned and operated the Snack Shop in Osage and later managed the kitchen at Mitchell County Hospital.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 2, 1987, at the United Methodist Church, Osage, for Amy Hill, 77, of Osage, who died Monday, June 29, 1987 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Rev. J. Pittman officiated, and burial was in the Little Cedar Cemetery.

Mrs. Hill was born on October 28, 1909 in Union Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to William and Clarissa (Palmer) DeLaney. She was a 1927 graduate of Osage High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She then taught grades 1-8 at May School near Osage. On August 30, 1928, she married F. Stannard Hill.

For many years the couple owned and operated the Snack Shop Cafe in Osage.

After Mr. Hill died in 1961, Mrs. Hill continued to run the shop and was in the restaurant business for over 30 years. Later, she was manager of the kitchen at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.

She was preceded in death by one son; one grandaughter; one great-grandson; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Balsley and Carol Shanahan, both of Osage, and Kay Hill of Cullowhee, North Caroline; two sons, Ronald of Orlando, Florida and Keith of Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Starr of LaHabra, California.
