RUNAWAY RESULTS IN DEATH OF PASSENGER
Miltonville, Iowa March 5th – Mrs. Adam Ransay of Meltonville was fatally injured while returning from Otranto, when her horse became frightened at an automobile and ran away, overturning the buggy, pinning Mrs Ramsay underneath.
Her skull was fractured in two places. She did not regain consciousness and died the next day.
Mrs. Ramsay’s grandson, Arthur McDermott, was with her, but escaped with a few scratches and bruises.
Adam Ramsay is a half-brother of H. G. Ramsay of this place and Robert Ramsay of Charles City.

Rosetta Jane Shoop was born April 28, 1863 in Ohio, the daughter of William Franklin Shoop and Mary Jane (Slee) Shoop.
She married Joshua House. By her first marriage Mrs. Ramsay had two children, Mrs. May Kay and William House. (1st husband name from 1925 Iowa Census for daughter Mary (House) Kay).
On February 9, 1894, she married Adam Ramsay Jr., the son of Adam Ramsay Sr. and Adam first wife Mary (Munroe) Ramsay.
She was buried in Ogden Cemetery, Otranto, Mitchell County, Iowa
