OSAGE MAN DIED
SUDDENLY WEDNESDAY
IN FORT DODGEFuneral services for Charles Gaffney, 57, of Osage will be held on Friday afternoon, October 14, 1949, at 2:00 at the Champion Funeral Home. Rev. O. Mellquist will officiate, and burial will be made in the Osage Cemetery.
Mr. Gaffney died Wednesday morning at five o'clock, at a Fort Dodge hospital. He was taken ill suddenly on Monday afternoon and was taken to the Fort Dodge hospital Tuesday morning.
Mr. Gaffney lived in Osage most of his life.
Surviving are his wife and a son, Wilson, of Forest City; two sisters, Mrs. Sam Smith and Mrs. John Goodbrand of Osage; and three brothers: Frank of Rockford, Illinois, Fred of Des Moines and Earl of Charles City.

Charles M. Gaffney was born January 11, 1892, at Brownsville to John and Mary Gaffney. As a small boy, he moved with his parents to Osage, where he was raised.
On September 3, 1914, he was united in marriage to Maude E. Willson in Osage. One son was born to this union.
Mr. Gaffney was a member of the First Baptist church of Osage. His main interests were his family and home, and he was deeply devoted to both.
Mr. Gaffney died on October 12 at a Fort Dodge, Iowa, hospital. He was taken suddenly ill on October 10, 1949, and went to the hospital the next day. Death was due to coronary thrombosis.
