DAVID EDWARD GROTH, 5, DIES MONDAY AFTERNOON, APRIL 7

Funeral services for David Edward Groth were held this afternoon, Thursday from the home and from Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery.

David Edward Groth, the son of Ervin Groth and his wife, Esther, nee Lutz, was born January 12, 1942, at Osage, Iowa. From birth he was among the ranks of the handicapped, never enjoying the advantages of health and normalcy. But he early entered the circle of our Savior's earthly Kingdom through the rite of Holy Baptism, which was administered by the Rev. Paul Brammer. Accepting this difficult assignment in Christian resignation, his parents bestowed constant care and affection upon little David, always realizing that accornding to human judgement he would probably not be with them for many years.

Last Monday noon he showed marked signs of abdominal difficuties, and while his parents hastened to seek medical and hospital assistance at Osage, complications resulting from his condition led to his death on Monday, April 7.

He leaves to mourn his departure in addition to his father and mother, his grandparents, Mrs. Johanna Groth of St. Ansgar, and Mr. and Mrs. William Lutz of Otranto; two sisters, Marilyn and Barbara Groth and many relatives. One brother preceded him in death.
