Minneapolis, April 9 – (Universal) – Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy, 107 years old, Minnesota's oldest woman, died Tuesday. She was born in Surrell, Canada, in 1822, and lived in Minneapolis forty years.

MRS. ELIZABETH MURPHY KEEPS YOUNG BY LIVING IN PRESENT, NEVER WORRYING ABOUT FUTURE OF GRIEVING FOR PAST
The oldest woman in Minnesota, who was born the year Napoleon died at St. Helena, who was a young woman when the Mexican war began, and who came to the middle west as a pioneer in the days when Lincoln still was a country attorney, will observe her 102nd birthday in Minneapolis Tuesday.
She will celebrate the anniversary by rising at 6:30 a.m., knitting for a couple of hours, reading the newspapers, her church magazines and her Bible, greeting a hundred or more friends, receiving letters and telegrams from many others, dining with her family, and retiring at 11 p.m.
It will be a busy day. But then, every day of Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy's long and colorful life has been filled with activities. And, she said last night, as she sat knitting in her room at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. S. Cargill, 2601 Portland Avenue, that is why she has lived to 102 years, happily.
Mrs. Murphy has 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren living. At least two of her great-great-grandchildren; Raymond Woods, aged 21; and his sister; Miss Helen Woods, aged 19; a sophomore at the University of Minnesota; children of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Woods, 2601 Third Avenue S, will attend the celebration.
"I am going to live many years more," she said, confidently, last night. "I keep young, yes—because I live in the present, I never worry about the future, and I never grieve for the past, So am happy and busy."
