COMISKY, KURTZ, STEVENS, SHEPHERD

Funeral services were held Monday morning, March 28, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Charlotte Comisky, 79, of Osage. The Rev. Leon Connolly officiated and burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Osage. She died Friday, March 25, 1988 at an Osage nursing home.

Mrs. Comisky was born May 23, 1908 at Fairfield, to Anthony and Hilda (Stevens) Kurtz. She came to Mitchell County with her parents when she was a child and attended schools at New Haven. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in New Haven in 1926.

On January 25, 1927, she married Leo Comisky at New Haven. The couple lived on a farm east of Osage their entire married life.

Mr. Comisky died in 1967 and Mrs. Comisky remained on the farm until 1986 when she moved to Osage.

Her parents; her husband; a daughter; and three brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include five daughters: Mary Larson of Mason City, Mrs. Dean (Maureen) Brooker of Osage, Leone Shepherd of Norwalk, Mrs. Jerry (Kathlene) Laker of Venice, Florida, and Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Kruse of Osage; five sons: Maurice of Osage, Marlow of Elmwood Park, Illinois, Merwin of Osage, Harold of Des Moines, and Gary of Osage; a sister, Mrs. Dewey (Marilyn) Foreman of Bloomington, Minnesota; two brothers, James Kurtz of Pomona, Missouri, and Wendell Kurtz of Washington, D.C.; 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
