Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home for Burton Stacy, 57, with Rev. D. Bourne, pastor of the First Congregational church in charge. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Mr. Stacy died Saturday night in his sleep at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Hollatz, in St. Ansgar. Death was due to a heart attack. He had been visiting his daughter for the past month and had not been ill.

Burton Fonda Stacy was born on April 30, 1892, at Stacyville, Iowa, the son of Asa I. and Mary (Fonda) Stacy. He was married on August 3, 1920, to Verni Bucknam, who preceded him in death on October 13, 1942.

He graduated from Stacyville high school in 1909, the Osage high school in 1910, and Iowa State college at Ames in 1915. In preparing for his career as a farmer. Mr. Stacy studied animal husbandry at Iowa State College and spent one year with Langwater Dairy Farms in Massachusetts. He was always well informed on agricultural affairs, a consistent reader, and occasional contributor to farm journals. He was active operator of his farm 3 1/2 miles east of osage, for 30 years.

Mr. Stacy had consistently been interested in educational work. For many years he served as an officer of his township school board. he was one of th eorganizers and one of the first presidents of the Mitchell County Farm Bureau and helped carry out the 4-H club and other educational programs of that organization. In 1944 he became connected with the state soil conservation office in Sioux City an dspent several years in that work.

He wa actively interested in church work and served on the official board of the Osage Congregational church during his resident in this community.

Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Arlene (Mrs. Oscar Hollatz) of St. Ansgar, Jeanne Lenore of Chicago, and Miriam Frances (Mrs. Frank McCoy) of Roland; two brothers, William H. of Ames and Donald F. of Western Springs, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Wright of Salix, Ruth F. Stacy of Galesburg, Illnois, and Mrs. William A. Wright of Osage; and a grandchild, Keith Allen Hollatz.
