DIED MARCH 23RD
AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Funeral services for Jacob Charles Lahorsky, 75, of St. Ansgar were held Monday afternoon at the Schroeder and Houg funeral parlors in St. Ansgar.

Mr. Lahorsky died at the Mercy hospital in Mason City on March 23rd, 1949, where he had been a week. he had been in failing health the past year.

Jacob Charles Lahorsky, second son of John and Amelia Gura Lahorsky, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, August 14, 1873. At an early age his parents moved to Steelville, Maryland, where Jacob graduated from high school and took two years work at Steelville Institute.

He taught in the Illinois schools for a while and in 1901 went to Harvey, N. Dakota. He served in various positions in banks at Harvey and Kenmore, N. Dakota. He taught school there during the winter and farmed in the summer.

In 1904 he was married to Millie Clausen and they lived in North Dakota until 1923, when they came to St. Ansgar. In this community he was employed in various positions, in later years in truck gardening. Mrs. Lahorsky died on December 26, 1938.

Surviving are two brothers, John, who had been head of the department of pediatrics at St. Louis, Missouri, and Arthur, an electrical engineer, also of St. Louis, Missouri.
