Mrs. Anna Thompson, nee Anna Severson, was born at Granvin, Hardanger, Norway, November 8, 1830.
She was baptized and confirmed in her home parish.

In 1856 she married Amund Thompson. This union was blessed with seven children of which the following survive their mother: Mrs. A. Martinsen, Niobe, N. Dak., Mrs. Louis Swanson, St. Ansgar, Iowa, Mrs. P.N. Naig, Lignite, N. Dak.

Mrs. Thompson was bedridden for three months. She died on May 24th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Swanson where she has been living for the last six years.

The funeral took place May 27th, Rev. Waldeland officiating and her remains were laid to rest at the Riverview Cemetery south of St. Ansgar.
