Peder Pedersen Fjelde was born March 10, 1872 at the Ovre Fjelde farm, Strand, Rogaland, Norway to Peder Olsen Fjelde and Marthe Larsdatter Forland, the ninth of their eleven children.

Emigrated spring of 1872 to America with parents and siblings. Emigration record leaving April 5, 1872 found at Norwegian Digital Archives on line for Strand in Strand, Rogaland, Norway 1855-1881, page 350 (right side of pages), entries # 3 through 12: Peder O Fjelde, Marthe Larsdatter, Inger, Ole, Berte, Edvard Torgrim Lauritz, Endre, Lars, Marte, Peder. Family arrived at Quebec, Canada May 21, 1872, having traveled on the ship "Brodrene". Ship's list found on Ancestry.com: Peder Olsen Fjelde age 46, Martha Larsdatter age 38, son Ole 17, daughter Inger 19, daughter Bertha 15, son Edvard 12, son Endre 9, son Lars 6, daughter Martha 3, son Peder 1 month.

The family traveled by train and settled at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, living with relatives already established there.

Peder died September 24, 1872 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
