Sherman Dennis Dies at the City Hospital

Sherman Dennis died at City Hospital Tuesday morning where he had been a patient for some time. He had been in failing health when he and his wife came to Riceville several months ago to be with his wife's sisters at the Burke hotel. Mrs. Dennis is the former Kathryn Burke. Funeral services will be at Immaculate Conception church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.

OBITUARY
Sherman B. Dennis, son of Eugene and Amanda Perry Dennis, was born at Pella, April 13, 1877, and passed away Dec. 9 at the hospital at Riceville.

He was united in marriage to Kathryn Burke, June 9, 1933. They made their home at Little Falls, Minn., but spent much time in various parts of the United States due to Mr. Dennis' work as superintendent of construction for Foley Brothers, Inc. of St Paul, Minn.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Burke Dennis, a sister, Mrs. George Brigham, Le Sueur, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.

Requiem mass was sung by Father J.J. Connell, pastor of Immaculate Conception church, Riceville, Thursday, December 11. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Loyd and Ed Richmond, Julius LaPoint, Francis, Edward and Richard Burke.
