Berthe Christine Olsdatter Fjelde was born September 7, 1863 at Norway to Ole Fjelde (1828-1908) and Ingeborg Halvorsdatter.

Berthe emigrated in 1872 to Iowa with her parents.

Found in the 1880, 1885 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1880: Ole Field 53, Sarah Field 45, Ole Field 21, Bertha Field 16, Louise Field 14.

1885: Oley O Tjelde 57 (should be Field), Sarah Tjelde 50, Mary Tjelde 27, Bertha Tjelde 21, Louisa Tjelde 19, Lars Larson 23.

Berthe married Lars Larsen Sorlie on December 26, 1887 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had three daughters:
Inga Sorlie (born August 13, 1888 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, died February 16, 1903 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, buried at RCLC Cemetery);

Clara Sorlie (born July 11, 1890 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, married Carl B Flynn March 1, 1914 at RCLC, died July 1972 Owatonna, Steele, MN);

Lydia Bertina (born May 21, 1892 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, died before December 16, 1892 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.)

Berthe Christine Olsdatter Fjelde Sorlie died December 16, 1892 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
