Theodore Peterson Fagre (Fagrebakken) was born December 30, 1869 at Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Nils Pedersen Fagrebakken (born September 21, 1835 Buskerud, Norway, died February 13, 1873 Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) and Ingeborg Anna Svendsen (born April 18, 1842 Nordland, Norway, died May 13, 1926 Blooming Prairie, Steele, Minnesota).
Theodore was baptized on February 10, 1870 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and confirmed at same church on June 7, 1885.
He had one younger brother, Nicholai Fagrebakken Pedersen (born January 29, 1871 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, died April 16, 1942 Rochester, Olmsted, Minnesota) and three step-siblings: Nettie (1875 - before 1942); Christian Pedersen Fagre (1878 - 1963) and Peter Leonard Fagre (1879-1918) (His step-siblings' father was Theodore's uncle, Hans Pedersen Fagrebakken).
Found in the 1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, IA, 6 mos old but his name was recorded as Ole Fagrebakken: Nels (Nils) Fagerbac 40, Myher (mother) Fagerbac 30, Ole Fagerbac 6/12.
Found in the 1880 to 1895 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1880: Hans Peterson 42, Isabela Peterson 42, Theadore Peterson 10, Nicolaus Peterson 9, Nette Peterson 5, Sievert Peterson 2, Peter Peterson 8m, Levan (Svend) Paulson 75, and Carrie Paulson age 72. (Svend and Carrie are Ingeborg's parents who had emigrated to US and died in Iowa and are buried at RCLC Meroa, Iowa.)1885: Hans Peterson 43, Isabelle Peterson 43, Theodore Peterson 15, Nicolas Peterson 13, Mary Peterson 9, Christian Peterson 6, Peter Peterson 5.
1895: Theodore Peterson age 25.

In the early 1890's, two brothers, Theodore and Nicholai Peterson decided to go into business, so they started a general store. This was located in Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa, near what is now known as the Albin Krueger farm - about 1/2 mile north of Meroa, Iowa. A few years later, the store was moved to where the building still stands, one quarter mile south of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa. They stocked groceries, yard goods, footwear, hardware,and ran a grocery wagon in the area during the summer. They would pick up farmers' eggs in trade for goods. The young men lived with their widowed mother. Later, after Theodore married, he and his wife, Anna, moved to Minnesota, leaving his brother, Nick as sole proprietor of the store. (The building still stands as of 2012.)Theodore married Anna Karine Maakestad (born May 15, 1875 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, died December 15, 1971 Primghar, O'Brien, Iowa) on May 15, 1898 at the RCLC Church at Meroa, Iowa. The couple had 3 children, all born at Steele County, Minnesota:
Kinley Ingvald (born October 24, 1901, died December 28, 1990 San Leandro, Alameda, California);
Nora Odella (born January 28, 1905, married Arnold Calvin Ridenour November 8, 1940, died September 15, 1975 Primghar, O'Brien, Iowa)
and
Alfred Theodore (born March 17, 1908, married Ruth Alice Hicks December 9, 1935 Decorah, Iowa, died July 25, 1985 Hayward, Alameda, California).Family found in the 1900 to 1930 censuses living at Blooming Prairie, Steele, Minnesota:
1900: Theodore P. Fagre 30, Anna Fagre 35, Christian Fagre 22, Peter Fagre 20, Ingeborg Fagre 58.1910: Theodore P Fagre 40, Anna K Fagre 34, Kinley I Fagre 8, Nora O Fagre 5, Alfred T Fagre 2.
1920: Theodor P Fagr 49, Annie K Fagr 44, Kenley I Fagr 18, Norah Fagr 15, Alfred T Fagr 11. Theodore was the owner of a printing press company.
1930: Theodore P Fagre 60, Anna Fagre 55, Kinley I Fagre 28, Alfred T Fagre 25, Nora O Fagre 22.
1940: Theodore Fagre 70, Anna Fagre 65, Kinley Fagre 38.
Theodore died May 11, 1953 at Blooming Prairie, Steele, Minnesota and was buried at the First Lutheran Cemetery, Westfield, Dodge, Minnesota.
