Newsclipping: OLSON - ELIASON WEDDING - Osage News June 13, 1895 Matrimonial: That was a society event of very great interest, which occurred at the Rock Creek Lutheran church yesterday afternoon, uniting in the holy bonds of wedlock, two of the most prominent young people of that community. The ceremony, which among Norwegians includes an address to the couple, was performed by Rev. Sigrud Olsen, of St. Ansgar, in the presence of about 200 invited guests. After the exercises at the church were completed the company repaired to the home of the bride’s parents where they partook of a bounteous dinner provided for the occasion. Then came amusements of various kinds, the festivities being continued far into the night.
The groom is Mr. J. G. Olson, a prosperous young farmer of Cedar township, in which he was born about thirty years ago, being the second son of Levi Olsen, the first settler in that part of the county. He is a young gentleman of high character, steady habits and great industry. The bride is Miss Emma Eliason, the eldest daughter of Christoffer Eliason, who is a well-to-do farmer of that community. She is an accomplished young lady and is a great favorite among her associates. She is also a native of Cedar township. The newly married couple will settle down to housekeeping in the southern part of Rock township where the many presents they received will help to beautify and adorn their home. THE NEWS joins with their other friends in extending sincere congratulations.
