AGED RESIDENT OF OSAGE DIES

Osage – John Thompson, 90, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday at a convalescent home in Mason City. Funeral services were pending.

Mr. Thompson was born December 2, 1860, and spent his early life at Stratford and Webster City. He was married in 1897 in Buchanan County, Missouri, to May McFarland. They lived for a time in Missouri then came to Iowa, and to Osage 30 years ago.

Survivors include 4 sons; Archie and Tilford of Osage; George of Floyd; and Ray of Riceville; two daughters; Mrs. Bertha Bossen, Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Haakon Rohne of Osage; a brother Archie of Stratford; a sister Mrs. Myra Page of Humboldt; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death.

John A Thompson was born December 2, 1860 in Iowa, the son of John H. Thompson and Mary (Dewitt) Thompson.

He married Nancy May McFarland, the daughter of George Washington McFarland and Mary Elizabeth (Eads) McFarland.

Nancy was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Mitchell Co., Iowa
