ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — George Gutman, 80. died at home Wednesday. He owned and operated the bake shop here. His wife preceded him in death;

He leaves five children, Mrs. O. E. Machlan, Mrs. Chris Klindt, both of St. Ansgar; Viola Gutmann, Story City; George, Ottumwa; Herman J., Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren.

The funeral was Saturday.

(Minna is also buried in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.)

According to his funeral service folder he was born on 30 SEP 1871 in Germany, and died 5 DEC 1951 at St. Ansgar, Iowa. Casket bearers were: Clarence Bless, Albert Halvorson, William Ruebe, Emile Erdman, Wilmer Rosel and Wilmer Mueller.
