William F. Merritt, 100, of Osage, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 15, 1992 at Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

Memorial services were held Saturday at Champion Funeral Home. Rev. John Gilbert of David Community Church, rural Osage, officiated. The body was cremated. Burial was at the Allerton Cemetery.

There was a Masonic service by Osage Masonic Lodge No. 102 AF & AM in conjunction with the memorial service.

Survivors include three sons: Milo of Osage, Marvin of Riceville and Robert of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one stepson, James McGahey of Lawrence, Kansas; and eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, three brothers, two daughters and two sisters.
