OBITUARY: Mrs. Ruth Crowl, ?-1981,
Mitchell County, Iowa

Mrs. Ruth Crowl Funeral Held November 17 Friends in the Otranto area have received word that Mrs. Ruth Luellen Crowl died in her sleep Sunday, November 15 at Ogden Manor, Ogden.

Services were held November 17 at the Minburn United Methodist church with the Rev. Jerry Ulin officiating. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery, Minburn. Pallbearers were all great nephews.

Mrs. Crowl had celebrated her 93rd birthday anniversary September 12. Mr. and Mrs. Crowl came to the Otranto area in 1928 where he was superintendent of schools until his death in 1930. Mrs. Crowl continued as primary teacher for some years, then went to Minburn to teach. She had also taught at Rock Rapids. After retirement she lived in her own home in Minburn until going to the Eastern Star Home in Boone last winter.

Laura Kolthoff, another former Otranto teacher, is also a resident of Eastern Star Home.
