Ingeborg Iversdatter (Dammen) Halvorson was born April 2, 1852 at Horgeneiet, Gran, Hadeland, Norway to Ivers Halvorson Dammen and Siri Hansdatter, the 2nd of their six children. Her siblings were: Halvor, Hans, Martha, Johanna and Bertha (see other obits at this site for their details).

Used the first name Belle, shortened from Isabelle, although Ingeborg and Engebret also found in Norwegian records. Belle emigrated probably May 1877 with her parents to Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. She never married and spent most of her adult life living with her brother, Hans Halvorson on his farm.

Belle Halvorson died January 23, 1929 at either Osage or Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Found Belle in the 1895 through 1925 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1895: Belle Halvorson age 38.
1900: Hans Halvorson 42, Belle Halvorson 58; says she was born March 1842 (error); emigrated 1879; single, sister to Hans.
1905: Hans Halvorson, Belle Halvorson.
1910: Hans I Halemann 48, Belle Halemann 49[59].
1925: Hans J Halvorson 68, Belle Halvorson 67.
