BORN AT RICEVILLE, IOWA

MANLY, IOWA - LeAngell Mary Hickle, 86, Manly, died Sunday, at the Manly Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

According to the wishes of LeAngell and the family, cremation has been accorded, and inurnment will be private in the Manly Cemetery. Those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to consider memorial contributions be made to Hospice of North Iowa, and may be sent to Mr. Gary Hickle, P.O. Box 89, Floyd, IA 50435.

LeAngell Mary Hickle was born on February 25, 1926, in Riceville, the daughter of Clinton and Purley (Betts) Buttolph. LeAngell attended school in the McIntire Independent School. She was united in marriage to James W. Hickle on December 28, 1942, in Osage, and to this marriage three children were born, Gary, Terry, and Berry. James preceded her in death in 1999.

LeAngell was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and for many years she enjoyed being a cook for the Charlie Brown Day Care Center in Mason City until her retirement. LeAngell was a great cook and also loved to travel, going to Canada fishing, collecting owls and playing jokes on her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children: Gary (Judy) Hickle of Floyd, Terry Hickle, and Berry (Connie) Hickle of Manly; four grandchildren: Curtis (Tracy) Hickle of Burlington, Wash., Tamara (Brian) Knudtson of Oskaloosa, Lindsay (Blake) Pasker of Woodbury, Minn., and Cody (Jolene) Hickle of Northwood; ten great-grandchildren: Maddie, Katie, Emily, Ally, Matthew, and Zachary Hickle, Kailan and Coen Knudtson, and Rylan and Bracen Pasker; her brother-in-law, Joe Jensen of Albert Lea, Minn.; as well as several other extended family members and friends.

LeAngell was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; and eight brothers and sisters.
