RICEVILLE, IOWA - Joseph Hoover, 73, of Riceville died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services for Joseph Hoover will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, at the Meadow Run Mennonite Church, 160th Street and Douglas Avenue, Elma, with the family meeting at the Hoover home at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Joseph Hoover home, 40503 Windfall Ave., Riceville, IA 50466, Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

The Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, 641-228-2323, is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Hoover, 73, of Riceville, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services for Joseph Hoover will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Meadow Run Mennonite Church, 160th Street and Douglas Avenue, Elma, IA, with the family meeting at the Hoover home at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Joseph Hoover home, 40503 Windfall Avenue, Riceville, IA 50466, Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Joseph Shirk Hoover was born July 19, 1939, at New Holland, Pennsylvania, the son of Levi and Edna (Shirk) Hoover. He received his education at Hinkletown, Pennsylvania. On January 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Ada Zimmerman at Leola, Pennsylvania. Joseph farmed all his life in Pennsylvania moving to Riceville in 2009. He was a member of the Old Order Groffdale Mennonite Conference.

Living family members include his wife, Ada Hoover of Riceville; four children, Martha Hoover of Withee, Wisconsin, Clarence (Ruth) Hoover of Shiloh, Ohio, Harvey (Erla) Hoover of Withee, Wisconsin, and Elsie (John) Zimmerman of Riceville; 19 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond (Ella) Hoover of Kutztown, Pennsylvania, and Marvin (Mary) Hoover of Fortuna, Missouri; a sister, Emma (David) Zimmerman of Leola, Pennsylvania; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hoover of Barnett, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lloyd Hoover; and a sister, Irene Hoover.
