Marcella Elaine Dahley was born January 7, 1926, at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, to Elmer Obed Dahley and Ida Annette Torblaa. She was baptized February 1926 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius E. Shoger and Olaf and Gladys Olsen. Marcella was the youngest of three children; her older siblings were Erling Orlando (1914-1999) and Ilene Marjorie (1918-1996).

Marcella died March 19, 1944 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
