ST. ANSGAR, IOWA -- Robert Frank Miller, 78, of St. Ansgar died on Friday, July 20, 2012, at his home in St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating.
Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is scheduled for after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
Robert F. Miller, was born January 8, 1934, to Sanford and Jennie (Van Werven) Miller in Chicago, Ill. His mother passed away when Robert was 18 months old and his father later married Helen Cramer. Robert knew Helen as his mother and had a very close relationship.
Robert married Nancy A. Huber on Oct. 5, 1957. Robert and Nancy together raised three children, Robert M. Miller of Stacyville, Lisa A. Haskins of St. Ansgar and Jennifer L. Metz of Crystal, Minn. Robert and Nancy greatly enjoy three grandchildren, Keith Haskins of Marion, N.C., Kendall Haskins of Visalia, Calif., and Cathy Haskins of St. Ansgar. Robert and Nancy also have four great-grandchildren, Seth, Mason, Abby and Aiden, whom they loved very much and enjoyed spending time with. He is also survived by one sister, Sandra (Earl) of Pheonix, Ariz.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Stanford; his mother Jennie and his step-mother, Helen.
Robert worked as a machinist in Chicago for many years and also farmed. Robert later farmed full-time. Robert's greatest enjoyment was dairy farming. Robert had a second lease on life when he received a heart transplant on August 8, 1997, in Iowa City. Bob and his family are grateful to the transplant team at the University of Iowa Hospital. Bob became focused on and championed organ donation. He spent his remaining years enjoying family, friends, travel and life in St. Ansgar.
