Edgar Bertram Rowley – January 16, 1878 – September 12, 1951
CHARLES CITYAN DIES; RITES TO BE SATURDAY
Charles City – Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home for Edgar B. Rowley, 73, who died Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the South Side Convalescent Home in Mason City, where he had been a patient for 4 months.
Mr. Rowley suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Saturday. The Rev. F. A. Schuldt, pastor of the First Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Rowley was employed for several years by Carlisle Ellis and was custodian of the Ellis buildings. Previous to that time he farmed in Niles Township and in Mitchell County. He was born January 18, 1878 at Rockford, Illinois. His parents were Bertram and Mary Ushar Rowley.
He was married to Cora Spurbeck November 12, 1899 at Charles City. She died October 12, 1938. He was married to Josephine Green, October 4, 1941.
Surviving are his widow and 3 sons, Clarence, farming east of Charles City, Stuart and Lloyd E. Rowley, both of Charles City; 3 brothers, Theodore, Charles City; George, Shawneetown, Illinois; and Bert Rowley, Evansville, Indiana; and two sisters; Mrs. George e. Dodd, Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and Mrs. Fred Turner, Nora, Illinois.
