Marvin John Ring – January 19, 1925 – May 7, 1989

A memorial service will be held today, Wednesday, May 10, 1989 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riceville, for Marvin Ring, 64, of Riceville. The Rev. Robert Pfeil will officiate. Mr. Ring died Sunday, May 7, 1989 at Stacyville Community Nursing Home, Stacyville, of cancer.

He was born Jan. 19, 1925 near Elma to John and Lillian Ring.

He married Berdean Christensen on June 5, 1949. Mr. Ring served in World War II. He was a retired foundry millwright.

He served on the Riceville City Council for several years.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors include his wife, Berdean of Riceville; his mother, Lillian Ring of Riceville; three daughters, Mardean Ring of Charleston, S.C.; Maridee Fox of Long Beach, CA; and Mindy Ring of Mason City, Iowa; four sons, Mark of Forest City, Kim of Riceville, Kent of Crystal Lake, and Mitchel of San Diego, CA; one foster son James Parcel of Riceville; two foster daughters, Mrs. Louise Duryee of Marble Rock and Mrs. Sandra Crandall of Mason City; four sisters, Reberta Christensen of Riceville, Kathryn Warburton of Riceville, Lois Ankrum of Stockton, MN and Sharon Erath of Mesa, AZ; two brothers, John of Emmetsburg and Elmer of Pensacola, Florida; eight grandchildren, 14 foster grandchildren and two foster great-grandchildren."
