Mrs. C. Bishop Dies;
Former Teacher in Osage, StacyvilleMrs. Charles Bishop, 80, died suddenly at her home at Wawasee, Indiana, a week ago from a heart attack. In spite of her advanced age, Mrs. Bishop was actively engaged in business and had been about her work as usual the day before her death.
She was a twin sister to Mrs. A. I. Stacy, who had gone to Wawasee less than two weeks ago to visit indefinitely with her. Burton Stacy, of Sioux City, went to Wawasee to bring his mother home to osage.
Mrs. Bishop resided in Osage in her early days. As Sarah Fonda she taught in the Stacyville school and the 7th and 8th grades in the Washington school in Osage about 60 years ago.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Irving, of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Mrs. Bishop was called "Mother Bishop" by everyone in her home community, relatives say. A judge there sent his speeches to have her read and O.K. before he delivered them, as a mark of the confidence he had in her ability. The youngest waitress in a resort hotel near her home felt free to come to her with her problems and troubles. These were evidence that she filled a large place in the community.
