Dale C Swancutt

October 30, 1923 – October 11, 2005

JUNCTION CITY - The funeral will be held Oct. 17 for Dale C. Swancutt of Junction City, who died Oct. 11 of age-related causes. He was 81.

Swancutt was born Oct. 30, 1923, in Riceville, Iowa, to Ross and Bessie Clark Swancutt. He married Wanda Fox on January 11, 1946, in Riceville. She died June 18, 1987. He married Dorothy Paull on February 12, 1988, in Junction City.

He served in the Navy in World War II from 1941 to 1945. He lived in Riceville, Iowa, until 1952, in La Pine from 1953 to 1955, then in North Bend, Wash., until 1961.

Swancutt had lived in Junction City for the past 44 years. He worked for electric utilities, retiring in 1983 as manager of Blachly-Lane Electrical Co-Op. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and woodworking. He was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. His family said he took great pride in his grandchildren and loved to tease everyone.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry of Eugene and Scott of Junction City; two daughters, Lin Lindly of Newport and Mary Wilson of Independence; a brother, Wayne of Newport; two sisters, Jean Park of Junction City and Doris Beine of Charles City, Iowa; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A stepson, Jim Paull, died previously.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.

Monday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Junction City. Private family burial will be in Danish Cemetery in Junction City, Oregon

Memorial contributions may be made to Junction City and Rural Lane Rescue, or hospice.
