RAY OULMAN, 83, DIES IN PARKERSBURG
Services for Ray R. Oulman, retired superintendent of the Mason City Police Department Bureau of Identification, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Parkersburg.Mr. Oulman died Wednesday at Parkersburg, where he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. M. W. (Ruth) Humphrey. He was 83.
Mr. Oulman was with the Mason City Police Department from June 15, 1919, until retirement in 1944. He established the Bureau of Identification in the department in 1927, and served as its superintendent until retirement.
He was born in Bristol Township, Worth County, Iowa, on November 24, 1880. Before joining the Mason City Police Department, he served in Blue Earth, Minnesota, as chief of Police Street Commissioner, school director and chairman of the civic league.
Mr. Oulman was a member of the Iowa State Association of Police Chiefs and Peace Officers, the Methodist Church and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Humphrey, of Parkersburg, Mrs. Myrtle Schneider, of Fullerton, California, and Mrs. Marpel McCann, Madison, Wisconsin; one son, Nathan Oulman, Riceville; and brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie, and one grandson.
